Course Description

Accurately assessing an animal’s health and identifying signs of abuse or neglect in the field is a critical skill for animal control officers, law enforcement, and humane investigators. This Animal Assessments in the Field course provides the knowledge and hands-on techniques to evaluate animal welfare, recognize neglect and abuse, and take appropriate action.

Continuing Education Credit

Upon successful completion, students will receive a certificate of completion and become eligible to apply for continuing education credits from Colorado State University. Veterinary professionals may apply to receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from the CSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
